Cribbs Named Player of the Month

CLEVELAND (JAN. 6, 2010) Cleveland Browns wide receiver Joshua Cribbs has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for the months of December/January, the league announced today.
Cribbs registered 17 kickoff returns for a 31.0-yard average with touchdowns of 100 and 103 yards, as the Browns recorded a 4-1 record, including four consecutive wins to end the season. He also recorded 14 punt returns for a 9.7-yard average. On offense, Cribbs recorded 25 rushes for 201 yards (8.0 avg.) with one touchdown and three receptions for 18 yards.
With his two kickoff returns for touchdowns against Kansas City on December 20, Cribbs became the second player in NFL history to record two touchdowns of at least 100 yards in a single-game. He is also the ninth player in league history with two kickoff return touchdowns in a game.
His first kickoff return for a touchdown set the NFL record for most kickoff returns for touchdowns with seven. Cribbs’ 305 total return yards were the fourth-highest total in a single-game in NFL history. He also recorded 269 kickoff return yards, which were also the fourth-highest single-game return total in league history.
This is the third AFC Special Teams Player of the Month Award for Cribbs in his career. He was awarded the honor twice in 2007.
