Okung and Seahawks Agree on Deal
DENVER, CO (August 6, 2010) – First round NFL draft pick Russell Okung and the Seattle Seahawks have reached a 6 year deal worth a reported $48.5 million, with $29 million guaranteed. In response to his contract, Okung, who was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks as the 6th overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft, said “It feels great. This is the best job in the world”.
Okung will be the Seahawks’ new left tackle, replacing future Hall of Famer Walter Jones, who announced his retirement this offseason. Last season Okung only gave up two sacks in 326 pass plays with Oklahoma State and plans to play a large part in helping the Seahawks’ offensive line.
