SMITHFIELD, RI (1/20/2012)—Matt Tracey had a dominant year in his senior season with the Bryant Bulldogs, earning several awards and he continues to be recognized. Tracey, who was named the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Elite Tight End this past week, has also been named an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-Star. ST. PETERSBURG, FL (1/19/2011)—Practice began Tuesday in St. Petersburg for the 110 participants in this week’s East-West Shrine Game. General managers, coaches and scouts from all 32 NFL teams are in St. Petersburg this week to view the talent that will most likely fill the middle and late rounds of April’s draft. Practices take place daily leading up to the game (Saturday on NFL Network 4pm ET).
NEW ORLEANS, LA (1/18/2012)—In 2011-12 Pierre Thomas was the feature tailback for the New Orleans Saints and he failed to disappoint. Thomas finished out this past season as a key member of the Saints rushing attack, which ranked sixth in the NFL in rushing yards.
HOUSTON, TX (1/17/2012)—After suffering a season ending ankle injury during the 2010 preseason. Ben Tate returned to the gridiron with a vengeance in 2011. Tate finished the 2011 regular season with 942 rushing yards on 175 attempts with 4 rushing touchdowns and 98 total receiving yards in 15 games played. This was a remarkable accomplishment given that, aside from two games serving as the starter because of a hamstring injury to starting RB Arian Foster, Tate was the backup to the All-Pro running back for the rest of the season.
BALTIMORE, MD (1/17/2012)—APSE client Kris Wilson stepped up for the Baltimore Ravens when they needed it the most. On a third-and-goal play at the Houston one-yard line in the first quarter of the Ravens’ 20-13 victory Sunday, quarterback Joe Flacco faked a handoff, stepped up and hit a wide-open Wilson for the touchdown. Wilson fell to the ground, cradling the ball to make sure it didn’t come free.

Baltimore, MD (1/10/12)-Today, Derrick Mason, who many consider to be one of the most underrated receivers in the history of the National Football League, has announced his retirement after 15 seasons in the league. The 37 year old decorated veteran says he leaves the games with no regrets and is grateful to still be in great health, “I leave it healthy and able to run and walk and not take a half-hour to get out of bed…I don’t have lingering pains as of now. Me leaving now, even though it didn’t happen the way I wanted it to happen, I had a good run. It was fun while it lasted.”
Green Bay, WI (1/9/12)-The Packers will host the Giants Sunday at Lambeau Field in an NFC Divisional Round playoff game. The two teams have faced off once already this season. That game was only a few weeks ago with the Packers victorious 38-35 in New York.When the Packers and Giants met on Dec. 4, it was a shootout.
Houston, TX (1/9/2012)-“I want to remember it forever…I wish I could put it in a bottle and take it home”, said Jason Macaluso of Santa Fe, Texas when asked about the Houston Texans recent playoff victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. This was the first playoff appearance for the young franchise which was capped off by a 31-10 score to secure the organizations first win. “This is a special day” spoke another fan about the Texans (AFC South Champions) who had missed the playoffs in the previous nine years. The playoff game was also the first in the Super Bowl era, which matched two starting rookie quarterbacks in the Texans T.J. Yates and the Bengals Andy Dalton. With the aid of a dominant defense, strong ground attack led by Arian Foster and Ben Tate, and a well rested star in Andre Johnson, the Texans now look to their divisional round match-up against the Baltimore Ravens.
New Orleans, LA (1/9/12)-Once again the New Orleans Saints’ offense looked unstoppable. After a slow start in the NFC wild-card playoff game, the Saints buckled down in the second half and came away with 45-28 victory over the Detroit Lions.
