Russell Okung joins others in a Celebrity Basketball Game
HOUSTON, TX (June 10, 2011)—For the benefit of at-risk children, the Amobi Okoye Foundation host its fourth annual charity weekend. The weekend will include a celebrity basketball game and a “Kick Off 4 Kids” sports camp, a series of activities designed to motive youth and promote self-esteem, inspiration, and academic scholarship.
Conducted at Jack Yates High School in Houston, TX, the sports camp is being provided for free through one of three scholarships. Foundation directors who review essay submitted by scholars award these scholarships. Following the camp, a celebrity basketball game will be played featuring athletes from around the league, including Russell Okung. Tickets will be sold for $10 pre-sale and $20 at the door. Proceeds from the event go towards the “Kick Off 4 Kids” scholarship funds and other programs such as the free sports camps.
