Texans Sign Second-Rounder Tate

(HOUSTON, July 29th, 2010) – The Houston Texans have signed running back Ben Tate, a second-round pick.

Tate was a two-year starter at the University of Auburn. He finished his college career with over 1,900 rushing yards. Coming out of the combine with highly impressive numbers including the third fastest forty time among tailbacks (4.43), Tate will enter training camp third on the depth chart behind running backs Arian Foster and Steve Slaton.

Tate becomes the eighth of nine Texans draft picks to sign with the team.
